A special message from Railey Vacations: Coronavirus (COVID-19)

EFFECTIVE MARCH 27, 2020

Per the Garrett County Health Department and Garrett County Board of Commissioners, all guests were ordered to vacate any occupied transient vacation rental homes, effective 5 PM on Friday March 27, 2020-April 27,2020.

To comply with previous updates to Maryland’s Executive Order and instructions from the Garrett County Board of Commissioners, Railey Vacations will no longer be accepting new reservations for arrivals in April, until the restrictions have been lifted. Throughout this entire situation, we have communicated with and worked alongside local and state officials concerning efforts to decrease the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) to our community and to protect our staff, our guests, and our homeowners. With the guidance of these state and local officials, we’ve modified our processes at every turn to make sure every possible measure was taken for precaution and safety. As always, the health and safety of everyone involved is absolutely paramount above all else. If your reservation has an arrival date in the next few weeks, we will be contacting you about moving or cancelling your stay.

We appreciate all of your cooperation and support through this ever-changing and stressful time. We are here for you now and will be here for you when this passes.

We would like to start off by sharing that your health, welfare, and safety always remain our utmost concern.  As you are planning your next visit with us here at Railey Vacations, we anticipate that you may have questions about our efforts to manage Coronavirus (COVID-19) and your vacation rental.  We want you to feel confident, whenever you visit, that all our actions are focused on your health, well-being, and comfort.

Please visit https://governor.maryland.gov/coronavirus/ for all current and future updates to restrictions on the state of Maryland’s businesses and residents. We also encourage you to read over the CDC Guidelines for COVID-19 here.

Local Impacts

Local grocery stores and pharmacies remain open and are stocked with food and most supplies. The majority of restaurants remain open for carry-out orders and may provide delivery options. All local restaurant’s current hours of operation and updates to their delivery/pick-up methods can be found through their respective Facebook pages. The Community Aquatic and Recreation Center (CARC) and Wisp Resort are currently closed until further notice. Many HOAs have also closed their common facilities during this time.

Precautionary Measures Currently Being Utilized:

Check-In/Check-Out:
Most of our rentals utilize remote check-in, which means you will go directly to the home without ever visiting any office beforehand. In keeping with social distancing procedures, we are currently offering alternative check-in options for our rentals which typically utilize office check-ins. Please consult your pre-arrival confirmation for your home’s typical check-in method and instructions. We will be in touch with all guests by phone that would typically check-in at our office, to discuss the alternative procedures with them personally. All of our rentals currently utilize remote check-out and those instructions will be included in your pre-arrival email (sent 2 weeks prior to your arrival).

Our office is still open in the event you have an issue or emergency. We ask that our guests please contribute to the welfare of the community by following social distancing procedures, however we are here to help in the event an issue or emergency arises. Please contact us by phone first and we would be happy to discuss them with you: (844) 362-1029.

Preparing For Your Arrival:
Our housekeeping staff has always used, and will continue to use, high-grade disinfectant and multi-purpose cleaner, utilizing disposable hand wipes instead of reusable cloths. Our staff is also increasing focus on frequently touched items, such as doorknobs, faucets, switches, etc. and ensuring all guidelines recommended by the CDC and County Health Department regarding special practices for COVID-19 prevention are followed.

Throughout Your Visit:
Our team is taking extra measures to communicate the importance to all staff who may be ill to stay home. Those able to work from home remotely are now doing so. Our staff at work are practicing good hygiene through frequent hand washing and the use of disinfectant, and wiping down surfaces in our work space, as well as practicing social distancing recommendations.

Vacation Rental Cancellations:

Currently, we are taking calls to discuss flexible cancellation and date moving requests due to extenuating circumstances on arrivals up through April 27th. We are staying updated on conditions revolving around the nationwide concern of COVID-19 and how this may affect rentals farther into the future, and will adjust the dates allowed within the policy as time goes on and more is known about the longevity of this impact.

If you are arriving on or before April 27th, we will reach out to discuss refund and move options. If you are arriving after April 27th, we ask that you please leave the phone lines open for those arriving in the more immediate future and we will continue to keep this page updated, as well as direct email communication with our guests, as we know more about the impact this may have on your vacation.
