Wisp Ski Resort

Wisp Resort is the only four-season downhill ski resort in Maryland. It is located near Deep Creek Lake in the town of McHenry in Garrett County, Maryland, near the border of West Virginia and Western Pennsylvania/Pittsburgh Metropolitan Area. Traditional, ski-in/ski-out resort offering ski lessons, 2 golf courses & summer sports activities.

Horseback Riding

Horseback riding and mountain biking are again popular pastimes. Trail riding, whether by two wheels or four hooves, is an excellent way to explore the springtime beauty of the Deep Creek Lake area.

Fishing

Fishing at Deep Creek is a popular activity, and you can buy licenses, supplies, or gear from a number of local outfitters. You can fish from the shore at public areas including Deep Creek Lake State Park, near rental house, or by boat.

Friendly reminder, we do have a dock slip for each house! Complimentary DVD/Blue Ray rentals and access to the indoor Aquatic and Fitness Center.

Mountain Coaster

With 3,500 feet of downhill twists and turns, get ready to dip, twist, and careen down the mountain in a fun new way with the Mountain Coaster at Wisp Resort! Billed as a “gravitational hybrid” between an “alpine slide and a roller coaster,” this ride is a perfect suit for kids (3 years and older) and adults! Equipped with a hand brake in each cart, you are entirely in control of the cart’s momentum and are free to go as fast or as slow as you like.

Ropes Course/Zip lines

How much fun does the ‘Chipmunk Challenge’ sound? How about the ‘Spider Monkey Adventure’ or the ‘Flying Squirrel Canopy Tour’? These three ropes courses at Wisp Resort are designed to challenge climbers of all ages (6+) to series of zip lines, cargo nets, and more. The trained guides will help you get the adventure started.

Scenic Chair Lift

There may not be any snow on the mountain, but that doesn’t have to keep you away from the chair lifts at Wisp Resort! Grab your camera and a friend (or two!) for a lift up the mountain to behold spectacular sweeping panoramas of the mountainside overlooking Deep Creek Lake. Once you’re up there, consider a hike on one of Wisp’s mountaintop trails!
